Business Insider Japan has published an interview article regarding the Mercari R4D Research Alliance Laboratory, titled “Why Mercari Created a Humanities Research Institute with The University of Osaka: Corporate Judgements on Value Beyond the Law.”

The article introduces the Mercari R4D Research Alliance Laboratory—established by Mercari and The University of Osaka Research Center on Ethical, Legal and Social Issues (ELSI Center) in July 2025—and interviews R4D manager Mari Inoue and director of the ELSI Center and the Mercari R4D Research Alliance Laboratory Atsuo Kishimoto.
