Mercari, Inc.’s research and development organization R4D has been selected for the Physical AI Development Support Program hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) Japan.
This program aims to support companies and organizations developing physical AI technologies, such as robot foundation models including vision-language-action (VLA) models on AWS. It is designed to promote the use of AI in robotics and assists in the construction of a series of pipelines from data collection and preprocessing to model training, simulation, and real-world deployment.

Through this program, R4D will work on research to automate the listing process using Robotics/AI for Mercari’s Marketplace business.
