Three papers by Bektur Ryskeldiev, a researcher at R4D, the R&D organization of Mercari, Inc., have been accepted to CHI 2026, an international conference in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
CHI is a premier conference in the HCI field that brings together researchers from a wide range of disciplines, including information science, design, and psychology. The accepted papers are scheduled to be presented at CHI 2026, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain, in April 2026.

Presentations
Paper 1
- Title: From Compliance to Decision Confidence: A Scoping Review of Accessible E-Commerce for Blind and Low-Vision People
- Summary: This paper reviews 21 studies published between 2010 and 2025 to organize challenges faced by blind and low-vision (BLV) people when using e-commerce. The challenges are grouped into four areas: visual content, navigation, physical fulfillment (such as delivery), and trust. The paper argues that WCAG compliance alone is not sufficient and proposes a research agenda centered on decision confidence.

Paper 2
- Title: AR Haptic-Audio Conversion for Non-Visual Product Understanding in Smartphone AR
- Summary: We propose a prototype that converts 3D shapes in smartphone AR into haptic feedback and presents material properties via audio. The goal is to support non-visual product understanding. In a preliminary user study (N=4), combining haptics and audio showed potential to improve understanding and increase confidence in purchase decisions.
