Fumiyoshi Kobayashi

Dr. Fumiyoshi Kobayashi (@fumifumi) is a Research Scientist at Mercari R4D and JSPS Research Fellowship for Young Scientists (PD), specializing in quantum error correction and tensor-network applications in quantum information. At Mercari R4D, he conducts research on quantum error correction on neutral atom quantum computers and its applications to distributed quantum computing.

He obtained his Ph. D of Science from the Graduate School of Engineering Science at Osaka University in 2025, where he conducted research on quantum computer algorithms and quantum error correction. During his studies, he served as an organizer for the 66th Summer School for Young Researchers in Physics, served as a representative of the Quantum Information Kansai Student Chapter, participated in JST Moonshot R&D Program Goal 6, and studied abroad at the University of Queensland, Australia. He joined his current position in April 2025.
