Mercari conducts the proper administration and management of public research funds under the following accountability system, preventing the misuse of public research funds and misconduct in research activities.

As the General Administrator, this person assists the Chief Administrator, bearing substantial accountability and holding authority over the entire system for the administration and management of research funds entrusted to the company

As Compliance Officer, this person bears substantial responsibility for and holds authority over the administration and management of research funds entrusted to the company; they operate under the supervision of the General Administrator

Contact point for reporting misuse of public research funds and misconduct in research activities

Mercari has established the following internal and external contact points for reporting the misuse of public research funds and misconduct in research activities.

Please keep the following points in mind when making a report.

  • Reports must target the misuse of public research funds or misconduct in research activities.
  • Please include your name and contact information when making a report as there may be instances where we request your cooperation with our investigation or report the results of the investigation to you.
  • You may also make your report anonymously; however, in such cases, we will determine whether to accept the report based on the content and other factors.
  • Any personal information you provide will only be used to the extent necessary for investigations related to the report in question and will not be used for any other purpose.
  • If it is discovered that a report was made with malicious intent (defined as the intention to cause harm to the reported party or to obstruct the research conducted by the reported party, aiming solely to inflict some form of damage on the reported party or to disadvantage the organization to which the reported party belongs), we may disclose the name of the reporting party and file a criminal complaint. Please also note that we will notify any institution affiliated with the reporter of any malicious reporting.
