Mercari R4D researcher Ryosuke Yamamura, who works on developing the inflatable electric mobility device Poimo, will be speaking at the “Innovating the Ideal Wheelchair Workshop,” which kicks off on day 2 of the International Home Care & Rehabilitation Exhibition, a three-day event held at Tokyo Big Sight that runs from September 27 to 29.

What is Poimo?
Poimo is a new type of electric mobility solution that uses an inflatable design. It started as a joint research project between Mercari R4D and Kawahara Laboratory of the University of Tokyo. Currently, R4D is working on research while also refining and improving the device for a public release.
